What is Shoutout?

Shoutout is a powerful tool to enhance the visibility of your profile and custom collections* on Carousell. By adding eye-catching banners and images, Shoutout lets you capture buyers’ attention in two main ways: directly within search results, where buyers are browsing for items similar to what you have listed, and through personalized notifications or emails*.

 

**Custom collection and notifications or email options are only available for CarouBiz subscribers.

How to run a Shoutout campaign?

You need to meet these criteria to run a Shoutout campaign:

  • A minimum of 3 active listings on your profile to run a Profile Shoutout
  • A minimum of 3 active listings in the custom collection for a Collection Shoutout
  • A minimum coin balance

Here's a step-by-step to set up a Shoutout campaign

1. Access your Shoutout settings page

  • On App, go to your profile page and select ‘Shoutout’ under your selling settings.
  • On web, tap on your profile name at the right to view a dropdown and select ‘Shoutout’.
    (Alternatively option is to also select the option ‘Create Shoutout’ from your profile banner when available)

2. Select the option to ‘Create Shoutout’

3. Choose to start a type of Shoutout and you’re good to go!

Please note that for your Shoutouts to run its full course, you need to ensure that you have at least 3 active listings within your profile, or 3 active listings in the custom collection you are featuring. If you delete, reserve or mark listings as sold, resulting in there being less than 3 active listings in your profile or custom collection, your Shoutout will be terminated.

What are the different types of Shoutout?

1. Shoutout via Search Results

Drive new customers to your profile or collection by displaying your Shoutout prominently in search results. Pay only when your campaign is seen, ensuring you get the most out of your your budget.

2. Shoutout via Notification or Email

Reach a curated audience directly through personalized notifications or emails. Send a Shoutout directly via notifications or emails to your dedicated audience curated by Carousell who:

  • Have visited or liked your listings or profile
  • Have chatted with you or made a purchase
  • Are actively looking for products or services like yours

You can set your desired audience size for the campaign to ensure your Shoutout reaches the right people.

Note: This Shoutout option is an exclusive benefit for CarouBiz subscribers. If you’re not a CarouBiz subscriber, you won’t be able to access this feature.

Upgrade your Shoutout with AI!

We’ve added enhancements to simplify the setup and content creation for your Shoutout campaigns:

1. Save time and craft more engaging messaging with the help of AI. Simply choose a template and let AI suggest relevant content. If your message is too short to capture attention, the system will notify you for message refinement. You may also add a promotion which could make your campaign more enticing!

2. Buyers can see your promotions on your listing page. AI detects your promotion and displays it right below your listing image. 

3. Campaigns with promotions identified by AI will reach more buyers through additional notification touchpoints.

Note: This Shoutout option is an exclusive benefit for CarouBiz subscribers. If you’re not a CarouBiz subscriber, you won’t be able to access this feature.

Paying For Shoutout

Via notification and emails

👉 Coins will be deducted upfront at purchase based on the size of your target audience. Your campaign will run for 30 days. If it does not fully reach your target audience with this period, a pro-rated refund in coins will be credited back to your account for any missed audience.

In search results

👉 Coins are deducted daily based on every 1,000 impressions delivered for your campaign. Deductions will continue up to your target impressions count is met or until your campaign runs for 30 days. Impressions that fall short of 1,000 will be prorated. You can view total charges under the “Shoutout” entry on your coin history page.

How do I check the performance of my Shoutout?

To assess the performance of your Shoutout campaign, you can refer to your Shoutout page and select ‘View Shoutout’. Within this page, you can view the detailed insights of each Shoutout campaign accordingly.

What is the difference between Bumps, Spotlight and Shoutouts?

If you’re interested in increasing your overall views across more than 1 listing, we recommend using Shoutouts to drive traffic to your Profile or Custom Collection and get views across all your products. A Shoutout allows you:

  • Showcase your profile brand and your account, along with a variety of products your account has to offer
  • Add an engaging caption to advertise non-listing specific content

On the other hand, spotlight promotes a single listing. If you’re looking to increase the sales of a specific product, we recommend using a Bump or Spotlight on that particular listing.
