Listings with the ‘Buy’ button have a ‘Buyer Protection’ tag displayed for more assurance, offering a fuss-free solution for online trusted e-commerce profile.
*’Buy’ button is not available in Hong Kong, The Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia.

Protect yourself from phishing scams

Common phishing scams under the pretext of ‘Buyer Protection’
Email scams
‘Buyer’ asks for your email address and sends an email containing an external link that asks for your personal data under the pretext of paying through ‘Buyer Protection’. Carousell will never ask for payment, order confirmation, or card details via external sites or email.
QR code scams
Where a ‘buyer’ will send you a QR code after they have made ‘payment’ with the ‘Buy’ button. Scanning the QR code will lead to a fraudulent website asking for personal data. Carousell will never send QR codes for processing of payments.
SMS scams
‘Buyer’ asks for your phone number and will send an SMS containing an external link that asks for your personal data under the pretext of paying through the ‘Buy’ button. Carousell will never send SMS text messages asking for payment, order confirmation, or card details via external sites.
How to spot a suspicious link
All Carousell websites will end with carousell.com, carousell.sg, carousell.com.hk, id.carousell.com, carousell.com.my, carousell.ph, tw.carousell.com, carousell.app.link.
Scammers tend to disguise links as “carousell.<extra text>.com”, such links do not belong to Carousell.
